What data we process

Model ratings: only the number of stars (1–5) you pick on a model page. We collect no comments, no nicknames and no other content — a rating is fully anonymous and cannot be linked to a person.

Error reports: the report content and an optional contact (e.g. e-mail) if you want a reply.

Real-range measurements: the distance you drove in kilometres plus the season and route type you pick from a list. We collect nothing about the person — a measurement is as anonymous as a rating.

We do not store your IP address in the database. The IP is used only transiently, in server memory, to limit abuse (rate-limiting) — the database holds only a hash of it (a pseudonym), not the address itself.

Purpose and legal basis

We process error report data to operate the service and improve data quality; ratings are published as an aggregate average on the model page. The basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) and our legitimate interest in maintaining and securing the service (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Cookies and advertising

We use essential cookies (e.g. to remember your consent choice). With your consent we may show Google AdSense ads, which use their own cookies for personalisation and measurement. See the Cookie policy for details. With your consent we also use Google Analytics 4, which measures site traffic and sets its own cookies.

Data recipients

Data may be processed by the hosting provider running the service. Traffic to the site passes through the Cloudflare network (Cloudflare, Inc.), which protects it against abuse and processes the visitor IP address in doing so. If you consent to ads, the ad provider is Google (Google AdSense), which processes data under its own privacy policy. If you consent to analytics, usage data is also shared with Google Ireland Limited as the provider of Google Analytics 4.

Embedded YouTube videos

On model pages and comparison pages we show video reviews. Until you click the play button you see only a still image of the film, served from our own server, and your browser makes no connection to Google. The click loads the official YouTube player (“no-cookie” mode); from that moment playback is served from Google (YouTube LLC) and is subject to their privacy policy and terms of service.

Copyright to video content belongs to its creators (channel owners). EVArena only shows official embeds, the title, channel name and thumbnail publicly provided by YouTube, together with a link to the source material on the author’s channel.

If you are the creator of a video and do not wish your material to be embedded on our site, contact [email protected] — we will remove the embed promptly.

Retention

We keep ratings for as long as they are published on the site. Error reports are kept until resolved and for a reasonable period for change documentation.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, object, and to data portability. You can withdraw consent at any time.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.
